February 26-28, 2025 - At Sea

Dear friends and family,

Sea days continue to be a perfect mix of relaxation and activity.

February 26: I met with Rick and Teresa to talk about an excursion in Cape Town which would include going to Cape of Good Hope, the most south-western point of the African Continent.

At dinner with Sonja, Margie, Carla, and Lindi, Carla and I requested a birthday cake to celebrate her grandmother’s 94th birthday and what would have been my mother’s 102nd birthday. The waiters serenaded them by name.

After dinner, Margie, Sonja and I enjoyed soaking in one of the hot tubs.

February 28: Stargazing on Deck 16 at 10:00 pm, with the lights out. I finally got to see the Southern Cross! Someone asked me if it were projected into the sky. I told her, “No, it is four stars that form the points of the cross.” With the naked eye we could see Jupiter and Mars, and Orion’s Belt. I love astronomical stuff.
