Dear friends and family,

Melbourne welcomed us with its vibrant energy and stunning architecture. This city has a charm all its own. I am sorry I didn’t get to experience it firsthand because I was worn out and stayed on the ship. Almost better from bronchitis but it causes energy lapses at times.

Dana provided me with a video of Pacific Northwest Ballet’s “Sleeping Beauty” which I enjoyed viewing. I do miss going to the Sunday matinee ballet with her. My niece Kimberly gets to accompany her in my absence.

My friends told me about walking the Golden Mile, which highlighted the city’s history, culture, and beautiful buildings. The mix of old and new in Melbourne is fascinating, from historic arcades to modern skyscrapers.

After the tour, many explored the bustling Queen Victoria Market, sampling local treats and picking up a few souvenirs.
