February 16, 2025 - Sydney Australia

Dear friends and family,

Today we arrived in Sydney, and it was every bit as spectacular as I imagined. Sailing into the harbor was a moment I’ll never forget—the Opera House and Harbour Bridge looked like a postcard come to life. The shimmering skyline added to the city’s charm. The ship’s choir serenaded us into the harbor very early, wearing Princess bathrobes because there are no choir robes. A group of us cheered Dionne on.

I spent the day with a new group exploring the outskirts of Sydney, Lincolns Rock, and a zoo. Featherdale Animal Park is devoted to indigenous Australian animals. We were able to take a picture with a koala if desired. The poor koala was strapped to a tree branch. Many koalas, wallabys, Tasmanian devils, most dangerous birds in the world, and much more.

The harbor at night was so beautiful as we sailed away.

I will have to return to Sydney to explore the city, starting with a tour of and performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House. The architecture is even more impressive up close! I need to wander through the Royal Botanic Garden, a peaceful oasis with stunning views of the harbor.

Sydney’s energy and beauty have left me in awe, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

With love and a sprinkle of excitement,
Chris
