January 30-31, 2025 - Crossing the International Date Line

Dear friends and family,

Today was a day unlike any other—we crossed the International Date Line and officially lost January 31st! The experience was both fascinating and a little surreal. The ship’s staff held a special ceremony to mark the occasion, complete with a fun “line-crossing” event that celebrated this nautical milestone.

Learning about the history and significance of the Date Line was a highlight of the day. It’s amazing to think about the sailors who first navigated these waters and made this crossing a rite of passage. Now, I can officially say I’m part of the "Order of the Golden Dragon"!

I had an outrageous ice cream treat to celebrate, then Victoria and I did water color painting with Marcia. I had my first ever Martini - a Black Cherry Margarita Martini, with Nina, Carla, and Victoria. More listening to Mockingbird, then heard Marcia and others doing Karaoke.

We skip January 31, going directly to February 1. Not sure if it’s Saturday. It gets so confusing!

With love,
Chris
