January 9, 2025 - A Day at Sea

Dear friends and family,

The picture above is the Island Princess in Cartagena harbor yesterday.

I had a very fun day with too much food and lots of music and dancing to Mockingbird, even a magic show.

Breakfast in the stateroom, lunch with the Singles group, Afternoon tea, then a very small dinner, before magic and dancing the night away.

Tomorrow we transit the Panama Canal. I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation for revisiting the canal tomorrow. It holds a special place in my heart, as I had the chance to explore it with my brother, Roger, and my sister, Maryanne (and her husband Dave), in early 2023, including seeing the house where we lived when my father was stationed in Panama. Tomorrow, I’ll get to relive those memories and make new ones.
