January 8, 2025 - First Port of Call in Cartagena, Columbia

Dear friends and family,

With the excitement of the trip, the challenges of packing, the long flights and with the knowledge that I visited Cartagena two years ago during my last cruise through the Panama Canal, I thoroughly enjoyed a catch-up-with-myself day sleeping and lounging around until 3pm!

I had a quick dinner from the buffet and then caught the early folkloric performance of Columbian dancing and music. The costumes were so colorful, the gals showing off yards and yards of fabric with all of the their twirls.

Then I headed to hear Danny Remadi sing and got a little misty-eyed listening to him sing, “All I have to do is dream, dream, dream…” Next I’m headed to an Eagles and CCR cover show. I was able to see the actual Eagles at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2013 when I was visiting my daughter Dana for my birthday. I wonder how this band will stack up!
