January 5, 2025 - Bon Voyage!

Dear friends and family,

The day is finally here! After yesterday’s warm welcome in Fort Lauderdale and meeting my travel companions, I’m now setting sail on the adventure of a lifetime aboard the Island Princess.

The port was buzzing with excitement this morning—suitcases rolling, passengers chatting, and cameras clicking. Boarding the ship felt like stepping into another world. The Island Princess is as grand as they come, with chandeliers sparkling in the atrium and a crew ready to make every day feel like a holiday.

I’ve already met a few of my fellow adventurers while enjoying a lovely salmon lunch and I have a feeling this trip will be full of delightful new friendships. My stateroom is cozy, with a balcony that’s just begging for morning tea and sunset-watching sessions.

As we pulled away from the dock, I stood at the railing watching the pilot boat guiding us out, waving to the world I’m leaving behind for 116 days. It’s a bittersweet moment, knowing how much I’ll miss you all, but also thrilling to think of the adventures ahead.

Tonight, I celebrated with a hazelnut soufflé as the ocean stretched out before me—wide, blue, and full of promise.

Here’s to new horizons, new friends, and perhaps a few embarrassing moments on the dance floor (stay tuned!).
