Dear friends and family,

Today we docked in Los Angeles, a city that has had so much devastation from fires and is not out of danger yet. My heart goes out to everyone who has suffered loss. It is still really hazy from smoke and with bronchitis I chose to stay close to the ship. We were required to disembark because it was the end of a segment and they validate that all guests have left the ship. It was a wait of only a couple of hours and I got right back on.

We had a number of new people join our merry band of Singles and Solos. I loved listening to Mockingbird doing a tribute to Motown but darn it, I’m still not up for dancing yet. Hopefully I will be all better soon! Later, I went to the Princess Theater to see Chris Lash, an instrumentalist (pianist) with a great band. Chris has toured with Jersey Boys so quite talented.

The musical entertainment has been top notch, the food very delicious, and the people warm and friendly. We have several sea days as we make our way to Honolulu. I have time to rest up and get over my bronchitis. I’m having the time of my life and am just so grateful.
